A businessman selling wrapped ugali has revealed how he made his hustles a success.

Moses Eteng from Uyo in Akwa Ibom State said he chose to wear official clothes, donning a neat suit and well-fitted tie daily as he carried out his daily activities.
Ugali hawker makes over KSh 100k
The 24-year-old narrated that he moves around with wrapped ugali placed on a tray on his head, selling it for KSh 20 each.
This gives him about KSh 3,879 daily, translating to KSh 116,370 monthly.
Many consider the trade a low-class business, and those who hawk it are not usually accorded respect because of their dress sense.
But Eteng cut a niche for himself with his unique dress style.
Premium Times reported that Eteng chose the type of dressing to woo more clients and stand out from the pack of hawkers on the streets of Uyo.
Eteng revealed that to get customers, he has to study people and understand what they like.
He noted that what he is doing is appealing to people and that many hawkers like it but are unable to, which makes him different.
The businessman said anyone who looks at him will understand his products look like him.
Eteng has also cut a name for himself as an educated ugali seller among those who patronise his products.
The entrepreneur explained that he paid his school fees using money from the business when he was employed as a seller.
How to start ugali business
He began his business in 2018 after being sent back to the village when he fell out with his proprietor.
The Yankurr Local Government Area indigene said he served a woman who treated him shabbily, and when he returned to Uyo, he began to make and sell his ugali.
According to Eteng, with the business, he was able to see himself through senior secondary school.
Eteng employs a rigorous process in making the ugali to ensure good hygiene.
From hawker to officer
