Joy filled the air in a home in Homa Bay after a man who had gone missing 51 years ago returned home. The man is said to have left home following a dispute with his family members.
81-year-old Joseph Odongo surprised his family who thought he had died, after showing up back home. No one, in Riwa Village, below the age of 60 years was able to recognize him.
Joseph allegedly left his home in 1972 after a clash of heads between some of his family members. He told some of his relatives that he was heading to Sikri Beach a few kilometers from home.
However, Joseph revealed that he relocated to Mombasa where he was hired as a security guard. Odongo was reunited with his 90 year-old sister, Matasia Akelo, who has been praying for her brother to return home.
