A 45-year-old man has today met an unbearable casualty after he was spotted uprooting cassava at his neighbor’s farm. As reported by one of the reliable sources, it appears that the man was perceived by residents who were on their way from work as usual in the afternoon, and they raised an alarm, which enticed the people who were around, and in a few moments the man was already enveloped by an angry mob.
However, following the report, the hungry man was therefore spotted aiming to elucidate to the angry mob about his issues, which compelled him to commit the act, but due to varied responses by the residents, nobody paid any attention to him.
The angry youth assaulted him with different harpoons, beating the man to death. An eyewitness who investigated the scene said that the man implored for compassion, upholding himself by telling the mob that he would not rehearse the action again, but received zero response from the mob.
“He begged the mob not to kill him, and he would not repeat the theft another day, but no one was listening to him, and the responses came in terms of attack,” he said.
He went on to say that after a few minutes, the police officers arrived at the scene after one of the residents reported the matter by making a call to the police station.
However, the police’s acceleration to save the man was all in vain since he was already dead on the spot and taken to one of the mortuaries in Kilifi County.
The police officers have launched an investigation into the matter, declaring that they will take action against the people who take the law into their hands.
