Ken Gichoya, popularly known by his stage name Njoro, was a household name during his days as an actor at the local Kenyan comedy show Papa Shirandula. Immediately after the main actor of the show Papa Shirandula died all other actors had to find a new way to survive since the show could not continue. Njoro had invested so much in real estate when he was still acting and therefore his life didn’t change so much after the show ended.

Some hours ago he was live with Inooro FM presenter Jeff Kuria where he talked about his life. He talked about the property he owns in the name of real estates and the challenges of being a landlord. He has properties in Ruai and Utawala in Nairobi County and in Kiserian, Kajiado County. Njoro’ advises that real estate investment is made for the future generation and that trying to reap the fruits after establishing a rental building is impossible within a short time.

He gave an example of how he met a PCEA woman who refused to pay the rent and he had to teach her a lesson. The lady who was around sixty years said she was not going to pay the rent and nowhere he would take her since she was older than his mother. Njoro told her that it didn’t matter her age but he was in business and his house must be paid. The lady stayed for four months without paying and he decided to teach her a lesson.

He went and come with a welding machine and he permanently closed the door while she was inside. She stayed inside the house for one week and PCEA people were calling and begging him to open the door which he refused. He gave them an idea of using Sunday’s offerings to pay him the rent on her behalf which they agreed. On Sunday they brought all the offering and he opened the door. He gave the lady one month free to live in the house and gave her a notice to vacate after one month. https://youtu.be/BYKHpy5bjoM?si=iuekfYMAIyo5HN_2
