Raila Odinga’s failure to win a seat on the African Union Commission (AUC) could have dire ramifications for President William Ruto, according to Senator Dan Maanzo of Makueni, who made this statement on a live broadcast on Citizen TV on Thursday.
The senator suggested that Raila Odinga should have been elected to the AUC before President Ruto began his four-day visit to the region on Wednesday, the day after he formally declared her candidature at the State House.
However, considering that the people in the area will be depending on the former prime minister to win by any means, despite serious opposition from three well-known African politiciansāfrom Djibouti, Madagascar, and Mauritiusāthe senator questioned whether this was wise.
