Television journalist Betty Kyallo has built an impressive reputation beyond the newsroom by establishing several successful business ventures in Nairobi and other parts of Kenya. After leaving her role at KTN News, Kyallo shifted her focus toward entrepreneurship, using her strong personal brand and public influence to grow businesses across different industries.
One of her earliest ventures is Flair by Betty, a luxury salon, spa, and barbershop that she launched in 2018. The beauty business initially operated in the Kilimani area before relocating to Rose Avenue in order to provide a larger and more sophisticated space for clients. The salon offers professional hair styling, skincare treatments, nail services, and other beauty solutions, attracting a wide range of customers including celebrities and professionals.
In 2020, Kyallo expanded her grooming business by launching After Shave by Flair, a premium barbershop located in Upper Hill. The establishment focuses on men’s grooming, providing stylish haircuts, beard care, and relaxing massage services in a high-end environment. The business has since grown, with an additional branch opened in Meru County in 2023.
Kyallo has also ventured into fashion through Betty Kyallo Closet, a clothing line introduced in 2021 that aims to inspire confidence among Kenyan women through stylish and trendy outfits.
Beyond fashion and beauty, she has invested in real estate through the Magic Business Centre, a commercial building that hosts several rental spaces for small businesses.
Additionally, Kyallo entered the hospitality sector with The Summer House, a trendy lifestyle and entertainment venue launched in 2022. She also operates Unapologetic by Betty, a beauty brand focused on makeup products designed to suit diverse skin tones.
Through these ventures, Betty Kyallo has demonstrated resilience and business creativity, establishing herself as one of Kenya’s most prominent celebrity entrepreneurs.
