The speculation, which circulated online for most of Sunday, September 10, 2024, claimed that Wavinya Ndeti was planning to deposit over Ksh 600 million in a foreign bank. According to reports, the bank allegedly refused to accept the deposit, suspecting the large sum might be proceeds of corruption.
Responding to these allegations, the Narok Senator took to his official X account, accusing some men of trying to tarnish the reputations of female governors in the country.

He strongly criticized the accusations, calling them ‘bullshit’ and questioning the logic behind the claim that a Kenyan could carry Ksh 678 million in a bag.
“It’s sad how men want to destroy women governors… total bullshit! How on earth would you expect a Kenyan to carry Ksh 678 million in bags? Wajinga ni nyinyi!” wrote Senator Ledama Ole Kina.
Ledama’s remarks come just days after another female governor, Kawira Mwangaza, survived an impeachment motion. The Meru County Assembly had impeached Governor Mwangaza while the Senate voted for the impeachment. However, the court halted the impeachment pending further hearings.
