After the Gen Z anti government protests that started last year, President William Ruto vowed that he will consider the youths when it comes to appointment in different positions within the government. This made the president to change his cabinet where new faces were brought in. After the broad based government was formed the appointment of the youths to various ministries was seen like a past tense.

This is also clear with the recent appointments of people to occupy different positions with the cabinet and other commissions. Recently, Mutahi Kagwe, Lee Kinyanjui, and William Kabogo were appointed and sworn in to take over the Cabinet Secretaries positions. Also the likes of Milicent Omanga, Aisha Jumwa, Homabay Governor’s husband, among others were appointed also to serve in different positions within the government. This has caused Senator Ledama Ole Kina to speak up on the government’s appointment.

According to Ledama, President William Ruto should stop recycling and appointing old people to serve in the government. Ledama said that Ruto should concentrate on appointing the youths to serve in his government as they are very capable. He added that the appointment of the youths to the state jobs will inject new blood and energy into the economy. Do you agree with Senator Ledama?
