Lectures who have been strike in the country for now 4 weeks have called off their strike effective immediately after deal with head of state President William Ruto’s government.

Lectures under the University Academic Staff Union, UASU have agreed to take the kshs 4.3 billion offered by the government.

The UASU Secretary General Constantine Wasonga have now directed the lecturers to go back to class immediately as they negotiate for the 9 billion they had agreed on.

“Lecturers accept the Sh4.3B offer. SG Wasonga directs lecturers to go back to class as they negotiate the balance from the CBA agreed Sh9 billion.” Citizen TV Journalist Emmanuel Too wrote.

Lecturers in public universities have been on strike for four weeks, causing widespread disruption to academic activities across the country and promised not to go back until the unfulfilled 2021-2025 is fully implemented.

This will be a relief to students across the public universities who have not been going to classes due to the ongoing strikes.
