A new revelation by residents living in the Njiru land belonging to Kirima family has revealed the amount of money that the late tycoon’s family has arrived at as the value for plots measuring 30 by 60 feet.
As reported by Citizen TV, offer letters were served to the settlers last month. In the land purchase offer letters, the family communicated that a land valuer had arrived at 2.167M as the value of a plot measuring 30 by 60 feet in Njiru.
Consequently, the family communicated this is their official price and demanded that settlers pay an amount of 2.167M for each plot measuring 30 by 60 feet.
Residents are now decrying that this price is too expensive and does not reflect the intrinsic value of land in the area. While speaking to the media, a resident said that their independent valuer had placed the price of a 30 by 60 feet piece of land a mere seven hundred and fifty thousand ( KES 750,000 ).
Surprisingly, the family of the late tycoon wants settlers to pay the amounts in full. Settlers are now asking to meet the Kirima family members in person for negotiations.
“We have never seen a member of the family set foot on this land neither have we seen any valuer sent by them. We would like to meet the family personally,” one settler said.
Settlers had been given a December 31st deadline another ruling suspended the implementation of vacation orders until late this month.
