A video which trended on Sunday showing a man mercilessly attacking a traffic police officer at Mirema elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans with many calling for the attacker’s arrest. The Man fled the scene after attacking and injuring the cop.
However there was a breakthrough moments later as police nabbed him hiding at his girlfriend’s place.
His identity has since been revealed and it has emerged that the attacker is a teenager who recently crossed over to adulthood.
According to a credible source, the attacker was identified as Ian Ngige aged 19 years old. He was nabbed by Police hiding at his girlfriend’s place. He will be charged with attempted murder among other charges.
“Ian Ngige, the 19-year old man who assaulted the police officer at Mirema. The authorities say they will charge him with attempted murder among other charges.” Reads an update made by Lemiso Media House.
Reports indicate that Ian Ngige made a wrong U-turn at the Road in Mirema forcing the Traffic Cop to Stop him. The Officer entered Ian’s car and directed him to drive to the Police Station. However Ian turned violent as he drew a sword.
The Officer disembarked from the vehicle to try and flee for his live. However Ian also alighted and started attacking the cop with blows and kicks.
