If you were following Twitter last week, one would think that Capital FM’s, Mandi Sarro was a reincarnation of Lucifer in the flesh.
The media personality had been called out for what some called toxic workplace behaviour, something she apologised for a few days later.
But it seems that that apology was soon nullified by her subsequent update that seemed to belittle what her critics had been saying about her.
In her second update, Mandi wrote the often used sheng apology-non apology, ‘Si sorri bas!’ This apology is normally used by Kenyans as a way to silence the other person, without really admitting fault and taking the other person’s feelings into account.
This fact was caught by Twitter provocateur, Koome Gitobu who had initially sparked the moral outrage towards Mandi after detailing how she had treated him in the past.
This time Koome was unhappy that Kenyans were saying he should move on despite the fact that Mandi had come out with the non-apology. He wrote,
‘And to those saying ā€œbut sheā€™s apologized why wonā€™t guys move onā€. You dont issue such a non-apology like that but these are the things you are intentionally retweeting on onto your timeline. This is you showing people what you *really* think.’
Most of the Kenyans who read his tweet agreed with him saying that Mandi had only initially apologised because she had been caught.
What do you think? Does the second apology by Mandi negate the first?
