During this festive season, accidents have been on the rise in many parts of the Republic of Kenya.
The most recent accident happened near Kanyonyoo town in Kitui along the Matuu-Mwingi Highway.
Credible reports reaching our news desk from Musyi FM through their Facebook page reveal that a whole family was travelling to their Kitui home for Christmas celebrations before the accident happened.
It’s reported that the family members who reside in Matuu had decided to travel together to reduce expenses while heading to their Kitui Rural home.
Preliminary reports indicate that the journey took a tragic turn after the vehicle transporting eight family members was involved in a head-on collision with a lorry along the Matuu-Mwingi Highway.
The police have arrived, recorded the scene, and transported the injured family members to Kitui County Referral Hospital for urgent medical attention.
We wish quick recovery to the family members as they receive treatment after the nasty accident today.
The police are currently working out how to tow the wreckage of the two vehicles to Kanyonyoo Police Station as investigations continue.
