CS Kithure Kindiki has confirmed to Kenyans that no rule has authorised a shoot-to-kill order when people are protesting. Kindiki said the agreement was understandable, and the police officers were informed not to harm Kenyans, instead apprehending those who went against it.
He was speaking this after appearing before the national assembly, where he was expected to resolve some questions after his police officers were exposed for slaying and victimising virtuous Kenyans during the protests.
Did really Kithure Kindiki give the order to shoot to kill as various leaders in government claimed?
When we came after the statement that CS gave out in the house, it was evident that he didn’t sanction police to use their firearms to antagonise Kenyans. Kindiki said the investigation has been launched into every spot where police shoot people, and in his statement, he let out that the officers who broke the law will be apprehended.
However, this tells us that he didn’t give any violation orders to the police when Azimio were protesting.
