Former Meru governor Hon. Kiraitu Murungi says the Mount Kenya area is likely to back President William Ruto in the 2027 election. During President Ruto’s development trip to Meru on December 7, Murungi expressed trust in his leadership abilities and reiterated the region’s support for him.

Equipment for hikingKenyan vacation packages At a large gathering, Murungi declared, “Meru is with President William Ruto till further notice.” He praised the president’s commitment to progress and his efforts to lessen the difficulties the local population faces.

Murungi, however, took advantage of the opportunity to openly criticize some Kenya Kwanza officials and advise them to put development ahead of early political campaigns.

He observed a rise in popular discontent with divisive discourse and early electioneering. “Kenyans are growing tired of leaders engaging in early campaigns and politics that can be interpreted as tribal,” the president stated.

In order to boost several local economic initiatives, local officials and locals welcomed President Ruto’s visit. The president has promised to enhance infrastructure, healthcare, and education in an effort to revitalize the region.
