There is hope, after all, for former Citizen TV presenter Kimani Mbugua days after he was discharged from the hospital.

This is after fans overwhelmingly contributed for him to get back on his feet, hours since he made a video pleading for help.

Mbugua needs KSh 200k
In an update post on Instagram, the media personality disclosed that he had so far used the cash he received on registering his company.

However, that is just the first step towards his recovery path as he needs another KSh 200,000 to get the business up and running.

“Please send what you can. I will keep you guys posted on how much has been raised and how I will be spending it,” he wrote.
During his last viral video, Mbugua stated that he had a business proposal that needed either funding or a partner.

He, understandably so, failed to divulge further details into the nature of the business and how he intends to execute it.

“All I need is a business partner who is serious, who will bring in money and have my ideas take off,” he reiterated.

How bipolar changed Mbugua’s life
The life of the once celebrated media personality spiralled out of control when he was diagnosed with a bipolar condition.

Mbugua soon lost his job and was swallowed in a world of alcohol and substance abuse, one that sent him into an abyss of hopelessness.

He was taken to a mental hospital, a period within which he fell out with some of his family members, blaming them for abandoning him.

Mbugua has since cleaned up his act, but he is currently homeless and in KSh 1.7 million debt, a development that made him plead for help from the public.

“People grew tired of me. I am not going to suffer in silence,” he said, adding that he was struggling with massive debt.
