The Kikuyu Council of Elders has finally replied to President William Ruto’s meeting with former President Uhuru Kenyatta at his Ichawera residence one day ago.
According to reports, the council has praised the action, calling it the handshake between William Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta.
The council called on the Mount Kenya region to reject divisive politics and support the two leaders and Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government.”UHURUTO
“HANDSHAKE”Kikuyu Council of Elders rally behind Uhuru Kenyatta – William Ruto “handshake”, urge Mt. Kenya people to shun divisive politics.” , a press release states.
According to reports, President William Ruto is attempting to regain control of the Mount Kenya region after a falling out with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Notably, Gachagua had stated that he would reveal his next political move, which is anticipated to be joining the opposition and attempting to overthrow President William Ruto in 2027.
However, President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government supports former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who has positioned himself as the ideal candidate to replace Moussa Faki as AU chairperson.
It should be mentioned that Presidents Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, Samia Suluhu of Tanzania, Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Paul Kagame of Rwanda have already endorsed Mr. Odinga.
Finally, do you support the Kikuyu Council of Elders’ decision? Let’s wait and see what occurs next in the interim.
