Kakamega Senator Bonnie Khalwalwe now argues that the authorities who ought to have controlled the Shakahola situation are ashamed of the exponential rate at which bodies are being discovered and had to stop the media from getting exclusives. Speaking on Citizen Tv’s Day Break Show on Thursday 27th, Khalwale argued that blocking of the media is now also part of the problem and the fourth estate ought to be allowed access into the matter.

“The people who were responsible are so much ashamed and every time a new body is exhumed the indictment becomes worse and worse.” Khalwale revealed. (Watch video from 2:25 minute)

According to Trevor Ombija who was interviewing Khalwale, the new death toll numbers are currently conflicting since the media were blocked from the scene.

But then, in regard to where the buck stops as far as the Shakahola deaths are concerned, Senator Khalwale argued that not only three individuals should be blamed over the massacre as this is a national disaster. This was after the a popular newspaper headline pointed fingers at the top three Security Chiefs, among them the DCI Amin Mohammed and the Police IG Japhet Koome.
