A Kericho man has turned to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for help after failing to join the Kenya Defence Forces five times.y
Twenty-four-year-old Tonny Kipkemoi, who recently failed to make it in the 2023 KDF recruitment, said he was left heartbroken as he has been trying since 2018 to join the military.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Kipkemoi said his lifelong dream has been to serve the country as a soldier, and though he has been rejected five times since he completed his secondary school, he is not about to give up.
“I have always wanted to join the military. I have tried a number of times, but next year will be my final time to try, as I will be 25. This year I tried, but I did not make it. I lost out during the running round as I was number 16, so I could not proceed to medical,” he explained.
Kipkemoi, who has a diploma in finance, said he has been jobless since completing school, and so he does menial jobs to survive.
“But for now, I am not focused on the diploma, since my dream since I was a child was to join the military. That is why I am now seeking the help of the Deputy President and the president because I have tried five times,” he stated.
