Kenyans took to the comment section of a Facebook post by Ghafla Kenya to react to a photo of a woman with several needles stuck on her kneck.
In the image posted on Ghalfa Kenya, a woman who seemed rather relaxed for someone in her situation had several needles stuck on her neck.
Ghafla Kenyan posted the pictures with a caption asking Kenyans what form of treatment it was.
Well, Kenyans in the comment section had varied reactions regarding the post. While most exclaimed at how painful it looked and suggested that they would never go for such treatment, some users with knowledge of the procedure revealed that it is actually called acupuncture.” Acupuncture,” replied one Facebook user.
According to Google, acupuncture is an ancient form of treatment that involves piercing points regarded as pressure points on the skin to help relieve underlying pressure, pain, and even, to some extent, stress. Despite involving needles, this ancient technique is considered painless and a non-inversive form of treatment.
