As a proud Kenyan, you might have taken interest in should that we’re recently launched by Kenyan Athlete Eliud Kipchoge in partnership with Nike. The shoes dubbed the “EK Umoja” collection appear to have left Kenyans talking due to their price.

According to information shared, the cheapest pair of shoes in the collection costs about Ksh 20,000 while the most expensive pair costs Ksh 40,000. Even though it is not clear how Nike arrived at the prices, it appears as if Kenyans might not be connected with the set prices.

Moments after the news was shared, Kenya was quick to react to the information. Even some Kenyans took to congratulate the athlete for the victory, most Kenyans took to share their dissatisfaction with the price with others claiming that they would wait for used shoes or knockoffs from China. Whether the Kenyans talking about the fake replicas were serious or not, some shoe vendors in Kenya are known to sell fake shoes, especially from popular brands such as Nike and Addidas.
