The Azimio La Umoja coalition has put a halt to its negotiations with the Kenya Kwanza side on the ongoing discussions.

President William Ruto of Kenya agreed to start negotiations with the opposition wing, thus the two parties have been attempting to discuss the requests made by Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio.

Due to disagreement over the inclusion of two members of the bipartisan team, the Azimio side of the negotiations terminated its participation in the discussions on Tuesday.

David Pkosin of Pokot South of Azimio and Eldas MP Adan Keynan of Kenya Kwanza are the two. Kenya Kwanza maintains that Pkosin is a member of its side and is ineligible to represent the other team in negotiations.

A similar claim is made by Azimio, who claims that Keynan cannot be chosen to represent Kenya Kwanza because he was elected through his Jubilee Party, which is owned by Azimio.

“There is a problem that keeps coming up that needs to be fixed. The inclusion of Eldas MP Adan Keynan as a member of the Kenya Kwanza negotiating team was a topic we brought up in our meeting this morning, according to Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi of Azimio.

In a separate press conference, Kenya Kwanza verified the disagreement, and now Azimio charges Kenya Kwanza of not being serious.

Wycliffe Oparanya, the chair of the Executive Council, stated yesterday that they had noticed a seriousness deficit on Ruto’s part and had decided to resume their suspended demonstrations the next week as a result.

The demonstrations will start on Tuesday, according to the former governor of Kakamega, so that workers can observe Labor Day on Monday.

He continued by saying that as long as sincerity and seriousness are ensured, the coalition will always be prepared for negotiations.

The ODM Deputy Party Leader stated, “Azimio continues to be dedicated to an extra-parliamentary discourse that should be sincere, open, significant, and nonpartisan in conception and execution.

The demos will be held in conjunction with the talks, according to Azimio leaders.
