Kenyans are counting huge losses after an unusual occurrence happened. After months of scorching sun and lack of water , residents of Nakuru county Keringet will be forced to dig deeper into their pockets to salvage their crops and buildings brought down by heavy rains.

On Thursday afternoon, the areas experienced heavy downpour accompanied by hailstones. Farmers who took advantage of first rains are in pain as the rains swept everything.

In pictures as seen below , the hails not only destroyed crops but also the 5M worth of Potato cold store recently erected. The roof of the structure was brought down exposing everything stored in it.

In other parts of the country flooding has been majorly reported especially in Nairobi region. Slums with poor drainage are the most affected. Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai this morning led in visiting those affected.

With the effects being adverse barely two weeks after the onset of rains , the situation might get worse as heavy rains begin early April.
