Former Nandi Hills MP Hon. Alfred Keter has launched a blistering attack on President William Ruto, stating that Kenyans are united against him and his agenda, and denying the idea that Ruto will rig the 2027 election.
Keter responded to Rarienda MP Hon. Otiende Amollo via his X account, challenging his prediction that Ruto will surely steal votes in 2027 and subsequently violate court orders.
“He won’t be able to rig,” Keter explained. “The margin will be significantly higher.”He is going to lose terribly because Kenyans will not stand for any of his falsehoods, fraud, corruption, blackmail, propaganda, or bottom-up foolishness. “It will be an overwhelming triumph over Kenya Kwisha.”
Keter’s words follow Ruto’s commitment to reject court orders finding the housing levy unlawful. In 2023, the government announced a tax with the purpose of removing 1.5% of each employee’s and employer’s gross wage to fund the affordable housing program. However, other parties launched legal objections to the levy, saying that it was unjust, illegal, and unconstitutional.
Ruto is accused of subverting the government and the constitution. He has clashed with current Prime Minister Raila Odinga, a longtime ally. Furthermore, he has faced criticism for his “bottoms up” economic philosophy, which, although attractive to the poor and young, is viewed as a populist dream by those who reject it.
Odinga, who has the support of several regional leaders and past presidents, poses a serious danger to Ruto, who is running for a second term. The 2027 election is expected to be fiercely contested, with both factions competing for the support of Kenyans in the majority.
