A 32-year-old Kenyan man is in police custody in the United States following the murder of a 31-year-old Kenyan lady.
Nobert Matara was arrested by Aberdeen Police Department after the remains of Tracy Nyariki were found in his car.
The car was found in Aberdeen, Maryland with Matara in the vicinity at the time.
The discovery was made by detectives who were searching for Tracy after her boss had expressed concern after she failed to report to work for several days. After they were unable to trace her, the police homed in on Matara as a person of interest in her disappearance. The investigation into Tracy’s whereabouts began at her residence in the Village of Kent Apartments in Delaware, where the authorities established suspicious circumstances that heightened fears for her well-being.
The suspect reportedly killed Tracy out of jealousy. Few weeks before her death, Tracy had celebrated a traditional wedding with a new lover, it has now emerged.
This is believed to have triggered Matara to commit the gruesome act. The two are said to have left each other long ago after the woman decided to end the relationship.
Her family back in Kenya has been left in shock by the incident. The deceased, who worked as a nurse in the US, was the sole provider and they largely depended on her.
