Popular media personality and MC, Azeezah Hashim, has recently sparked a lively debate with her bold opinions on modern Kenyan men. According to Azeezah, these men have lost the traditional drive to pursue women and are now adopting a “playing hard to get” attitude.

In a candid interview with Wasafi FM, the 24-year-old did not shy away from expressing why she wouldn’t consider dating a Kenyan man. “Kenyan men now expect women to chase after them. Back home, we say they are in their ‘soft boy era.’ Men want you to be the one calling them in the morning and chasing after them,” Azeezah explained when questioned about her dating life. She added, “But that’s something I can’t do. I want to be the one who is pursued and asked out.”

Azeezah’s views reflect a broader conversation about changing social dynamics, particularly when it comes to traditional gender roles. Her comments come at a time when many are questioning and redefining these roles in relationships.

Interestingly, Azeezah has previously mentioned that she is open to the idea of becoming a second wife, a sentiment that adds another layer to the ongoing discussion about modern relationships.

During the interview, the Tanzanian radio host pointed out that a similar trend is emerging in Tanzania, where modern men are also looking for women who can support them financially. Azeezah was taken aback by this idea, responding, “That’s what I want to receive, not give. That’s too much work. My God.”

Azeezah’s remarks highlight the evolving expectations and attitudes towards relationships in today’s society, raising important questions about how traditional and modern values can coexist.
