Same year, same old story. The modern fashion of blockbuster films to release synonymously with their soundtrack album has become a normality in film and music culture today.
Whether it’s the film Black Panthers’ success on the box office realm, the musical side of the film also soared with an executively produced soundtrack courtesy of artist Kendrick Lamar.

The latter went on to be just as popular on the charts. With the highly popular Coming 2 America film all geared up to release on March 5th, 2021, a new milestone has been achieved with the soundtrack offering an exclusively African catalogue.
South African rapper Nasty C’s ‘Black and White’ featuring Dreamville signee Ari Lennox was the opening soundtrack for the movie. What followed was a track-listing for the soundtrack project released on 12th February featuring the artists and songs selection.
The track-list then ensues to be dominated by South Africa and Nigeria, with artists Larry Gaaga, Tekno, Tellaman, Gemini Major, Alpha P and Prince Kaybee, among being given the prestigious placements on the iconic 1998 film’s sequel that will feature actors Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, and a new face, Teyana Taylor.
