Commander of the Kenya Army, Lieutenant General David Ketter, on Friday, February, 20, visited troops stationed at Thika Garrison in a move aimed at assessing troop morale and welfare, while appreciating their steadfast commitment to duty.During his visit, Lieutenant General Ketter interacted with personnel from various units, assessing the operational environment and the support systems designed to maintain troop morale.
He stressed the Kenya Army’s dedication to ongoing training, the modernization of equipment, and the well-being of service members and their families.
“Training is essential for our operational readiness. We must stay adaptable, innovative, and ready to respond effectively to emerging and complex threats,” Lieutenant General Ketter remarked, emphasizing the importance of mission-focused exercises for sustaining combat effectiveness.
He urged commanders at every level to focus on exercises that reflect changing security challenges.
Regarding equipment modernization, the Army Commander reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to progressively enhance capabilities, explaining that modern equipment not only improves operational efficiency but also protects personnel.
