American rapper and songwriter Kendrick Lamar Duckworth has dropped his highly anticipated 12-song ‘GNX’ album. This comes weeks after he received seven Grammy award nominations; five of which are tied to his Drake diss track ‘Not like us’. The songs in the album include: wacced out murals, squabble up, tv off, Gloria, hey now, peekaboo, GNX, man at the garden, luther, heart part 6, dodger blue and reicarnated.
In the song wacced out murals, he speaks on his appointment to perform at the halftime of the 2025 superbowl in New Orleans, Louisiana. The 37-year-old rapper addresses fellow rapper Lil Wayne as Wayne was the one expected to be appointed to perform at the superbowl at his hometown, but Kendrick who is from Compton was given the performance. In the song wacced out murals he says: ”I used to bump to tha Carter III, the irony I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down”.
Kendrick has also addressed his feud with Drake, but lets his disappointment in Snoop Dogg be known after Snoop reposted Drizzy’s AI-assisted “Taylore Made Freestyle.” “I prayed it was the edibles/ I couldn’t believe it, it was only right for me to let it go,” he raps. Snoop responded by saying it was the edibles. In less than 24 hours since its release, the GNX album is already the fastest album to reach number one spot on apple music.
