The Vice Chief of the Defense Forces (VCDF), Lt. Gen. Jonah Mwangi, today held talks with the Rwanda Defense Forces Mechanized Division Commander, Major General Wilson Gomisiriza, who visited the Defense Headquarters in Nairobi.

The two sides discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest and explored further potential areas for partnership and cooperation within the current framework.

Joint military training in Rwanda and Kenya is possible because the two countries are strong allies and strategic partners.

This comes President William Ruto has directed the Kenya National Police Service and the Kenya Defense Force (KDF) to prioritize National Youth Service (NYS) police officers in future recruitments.

In his first address to Congress, the president asked both organizations to hire 80 percent of New York’s workforce.

He added that New York State is increasing youth recruitment from 20,000 to 40,000 to create more job opportunities, and so other security agencies must also change their structure.
