Days after being impeached by 59 Meru ward representatives, Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza has allegedly fired a County officer.
As relayed by a report covered by Rodgers Kipembe, Kawira Mwangaza has allegedly fired a County officer simply because her husband voted against her.
“Governor Kawira Mwangaza has fired a county officer simply because her husband, who is a MCA, voted against her”, he wrote.
It’s claimed that her husband was among the rebel MCAs who resolved to send embattled Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza home over bullying and favourism.
This comes after Nyeri High Court dismissed her petition seeking to stop the Impeachment motion which yesterday was relayed to the senate.
However, Busia senator Okiya Omtatah has filed a case in High Court Seeking to challenge the laws that are being used by MCAs to Impeach governors.
Speaking after tabling a case, Okiya Omtatah noted that he’s seeking to term the laws unconstitutional.
It should be noted that her fate now lies within the senate where a committee will be formed to prove all allegations that were tabled against her.
On the other side, EALA member of parliament Hon Kanini Kega and nominated member of parliament Hon Sabina Chege are at the risk of loosing their seats. This follows former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s move of seeking their nominations literally after declaring their support to president William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government.
Lastly in your opinion, do you agree with Kawira Mwangaza’s decision?
