Kasarani is on the spot again after a fresh graduate died under unclear circumstances. According to a statement by blogger Simon Muthiora, Steve found his house broken into with several things missing.
He rushed to Kasarani police station to report the incident and went back home in the afternoon after revealing the names of the suspects.
A few hours, he was found dead while standing next to the window with a bedsheet tied around his neck. It was concluded to be a suicide. He is set to be burried tommorow.
Steve had graduated about two weeks ago and gotten a new job.
The incident comes at a time when there are about three reports of mysterious suicides in Kasarani. A few days ago, Pastor Elizabeth Wanjiru died in the house of musician Dishon Murigi. He reported that she hanged herself on the wardrobe using a bedsheet. Investigations however established that he had threatened her severally after she told him to pay back her 700,000 Kenyan shillings.
Dishon is still in police custody as investigations go on. Another case which is still under investigations is that of Brenda Kawira, a first class honors Biochemistry graduate from UON who was set to travel to Australia in June for her master’s degree. Brenda was reported to have thrown herself from the balcony of the house she used to live with her boyfriend but the family suspects foul play.
The case of 23 year old interior Jeff Mwathi who was murdered at the house of DJ Fatxo in Kasarani in February is also going on. His body is set to be exhumed on Friday so that the dimensions can be looked at again given that the window from which he was reported to have jumped from was too small.
May justice be served for Jeff, Pastor Elizabeth, Brenda and Steve.
