Azimio la Umoja resumed anti-government demonstrations on Tuesday, 2nd May 2023, following a call by party leader Raila Odinga on supporters across the country to turn up in numbers for the demos.

The demos took place across major cities in the country where Azimio enjoys support including Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa with protesters ingaging police in running battles throughout the day.

The Azimio leaders later held a press briefing at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation in Upper Hill, Nairobi led by Raila.

During the press briefing, Martha Karua announced that Azimio would not be holding demos tomorrow, Wednesday and would resume on Thursday.

According to Karua, they will not hold demos tomorrow as they will be taking a break to strategize and recharge accordingly before resuming on Thursday.

“Tomorrow we will take a break to strategize and recharge. Our protests will resume on Thursday, the 4th of May,” Karua said.
