Controversial Kenyan lawyer-cum-politician Karen Nyamu has recently found herself responding to some netizens who claimed that the love of her life, Mugithi crooner Samidoh, was her ‘ben 10’ (a younger man who dates an older woman to depend on her financially).
Well this all started when the nominated Senator posted a throwback photo of herself on her Facebook account, showing her fans how at one time she used to rock a purple weave.
Karen Nyamu accompanied the photo with a caption asking a rhetorical question to netizens about what she had not yet done in this life.
“TBT when I had purple hair 🤪 Ni nini sijafanya kwa hii life 😂” she wrote.
One netizen however took to the comment section of the post and told Karen Nyamu that she was yet to date a ‘ben 10′.
“Kile hujafanya ni kupata Ben ten pekee’ the fan said.
In her response however, Karen Nyamu made it clear she will never date a ‘ben 10’ because she hates lazy men who just depend on women.
“Hio staki. I can’t stand lazy men 😄” she said.
Another Facebook user also joined the same conversation and alleged that Samidoh was a ‘ben 10’ to the legislator, as he was younger than her.
Karen Nyamu however responded by differentiating Samidoh’s case with that of other ‘ben 10s’ out there.
According to the nominated Senator, the Mugithi crooner is different because he does not depend on her for money.
He works hard to earn his own money and this is what has enabled him to successfully provide for her kids and also the kids he sired with her estranged wife Edday Nderitu.
“Yule anajituma kujituma na anasmamia nyumba mbili” she said.
This however is not the first time that Karen Nyamu has had to defend her relationship with Samidoh after netizens alleged that she was older than him.
In March 2023, the nominated Senator again took to her social media and made a post on Instagram, about how she met the Secretary General in the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection Geoffrey Kaituko in his office.
“We had discussions that are looking to strengthen this important sector” she wrote as a caption.
One Instagram user however took a swipe at Karen Nyamu, by alleging that she was too old for Samidoh and that she should leave him alone.
“You Karen, seem too old for samidoh though, leave the young boy alone” he wrote.
Karen Nyamu however responded by making it clear that the Mugithi crooner chose her, despite her being older than him.
“He chose old, please let him enjoy” she said.
Aside from netizens, Samidoh’s estranged wife Edday Nderitu also at one time gave netizens a perspective of allegedly how old Karen Nyamu was, compared to the singer who is now 33-years-old.
This was in a post that Edday made in February 2023, where she announced that she was breaking up with Samidoh.
Part of the long message read that Karen Nyamu was more than 10 years older than Edday.
“…but one thing i have said to you and I am saying here again I will not raise my kids in a polygamy family, especially with a woman who is older than me by more than 10 yrs…” she said.
