Member of Parliament of the East African Parliament (EALA) Kanini Kega has criticized the government of President William Ruto, who he accuses of oppressing the Mount Kenya area while claiming that the country’s leader has already made a secret handshake with Azimio leader Raila Odinga.
The EALA Member of Parliament has also announced that the Jubilee party will present a presidential candidate in 2027, while blaming President Ruto for excluding people from the Central Zone and depriving them of government positions.
“President William Ruto and Raila Odinga made me suspicious for a while. It’s just that this time, I don’t think a picture was taken outside the Harambee Hall,” said Mr Kega speaking on Monday October 23, 2023 in the morning on Inooro TV.
“Ruto is welcomed and embraced by leaders from the Nyanza area at public meetings. What about our Gachagua? We must not appear as if we are the only ones who oppose national unity!”Mr Kega also seemed to absolve Azimio of the problems facing the Central region.
In addition, he has asked the politicians who developed the concept of fighting President Uhuru Kenyatta regarding the high cost of living to apologize saying that Kenyans are still suffering while the UDA government is doing the same things that were done by its predecessor.
“Politicians of Mt. Kenya have been spreading the word that the problems in this area have been caused by Raila Odinga. Now they have faced the reality that the challenges of Mount Kenya are due to poor agricultural income, unemployment, alcohol consumption, drugs, poor commercial policies, issues that do not concern Mr Odinga.”
“President Ruto is firing people from Mt Kenya from government jobs without filling their positions with people from that area. When the steamers were lost all over the country, he fired the airport staff from our area while the steamers are not produced or connected at the airport!”Regarding former Trade Minister Moses Kuria, Mr Kega said that Mr Kuria, who was transferred to the Ministry of Public Service, failed to promote Kenya as a major business destination in East Africa.
“In all the time he led the Ministry, he never attended a single meeting to plan strategies on how Kenya would benefit from the opportunities available in the East African Community.”
While warning about the separation in the Central region, he called on the council of elders of the community to agree to pass the reins to Deputy President Gachagua to be the spokesman for Mount Kenya from retired president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking about the turmoil facing the Jubilee party, Mr Kega has called on the Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetangula to officially declare the party to be independent.
He said the move will enable the Special Member of Parliament for Murang’a Sabina County who is being fought by Azimio as Deputy Kiranja of the Minorities to take the helm as Kiranja of Jubilee.
