National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has today been ‘sworn in.’
At an event carried out in the presence of thousands of supporters amidst a media shutdown, Odinga took his oath flanked by other NASA leaders such as former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Miguna Miguna.

Missing in action, however, was his NASA co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka who raised eyebrows after he failed to turn up at the venue, Uhuru Park.
His other NASA co-principals Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula were also a no show in the less than 10 minute ‘swearing in’ event.
Earlier in the day, Kalonzo had hinted at a disquiet saying they were still ‘consulting’ with other principals.
Speaking at his Karen home, Kalonzo stated that they were consulting with other principals and did not understand the panic from the ‘other side’ to shutdown communication networks.

Kalonzo added that the world was expecting the Uhuru Park event and he was headed to a meeting to consult on how to manoeuvre the shutdown by alleged Communication Authority (CA) officials at the Limuru transmission station.
“We do not understand this panic, so in the first instance we are still consulting, and we will let you know. We are actually going in to consultation right now.
“Because, even worldwide people are expecting this event, so what do you do when there is a complete shutdown?
“So, ndio basi nasema ni lazima tuangalie mambo haya, tunazumgumza tunajaribu kuelewana kwa sababu ni vibaya kabisa kwa Communication Authority kufanya mambo haya kufunga mawasiliano, hatujui kama sasa watazima sasa simu zetu, ndo kukawa mambo ya kuchelewa chelewa,” said Kalonzo.
