The proposed Minority leader in the National Assmbly, honorable Junet Mohamed, rose to the occasion and stole the show, when Professor Kithure Kindiki was being vetted as the Cabinet Secretary nominee for Interior.

He asked him a very tough question and put him to task to explain where he was when the Gen Z protests were going on. He added that he was very quiet even when Kenyans were being killed and others were being abducted.

Honorable Junet Mohamed also asked Professor Kithure Kindiki, why the police officers who fall under his docket, were shooting innocent Kenyans who were not even armed. He also asked him, why the police officers were also shooting the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance protestors before the Gen Z protests.

Honorable Junet Mohamed also wanted to understand why he refused to take the blame, and resign since people were killed and abductions are taking place in the country at the moment. He was keen to note that people are being abducted, especially in Nairobi, in broad daylight by people believed to be the special unit of police officers in the country.

Professor Kithure Kindiki responded to the questions, claiming that those were operational issues that should be directed to the police service. He went ahead to note that he is only supposed to give policy statements to the security agencies, and he cannot order them during operations in the country.

Professor Kindiki made it clear that, he is only mandated to issue policies and make sure that they are implemented to ensure that the country is safe. The Cabinet Secretary nominee for Interior Coordination, went ahead and thanked the police for fairly maintaining security in the country for the twenty months he was serving as a cabinet secretary in charge of security.
