She has been appointed to that position by government through ministry of Tourism and wildlife under stewardship of cabinet secretary Alfred Mutua. Chepkemoi will serve for a period of Three years, her appointment is effective as from 20/3/2024 like how it has been written in the official gazette notice. Before her appointment as the CEO of The Kenya Tourism Board, she has been serving as the Managing Director, Kenya investment Authority.
