Following Joseph Irungu, popularly known as Jowie’s, sentencing to death for the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani, his close friend Joe Muchiri has expressed his sorrow. Jowie was convicted on February 9 for the September 2018 killing at Monica’s apartment in Kilimani.
High Court Judge Grace Nzioka delivered the verdict on Wednesday, March 13, declaring that Jowie would face the death penalty for the offense of murder as stipulated by Kenya’s penal code.
While Jowie’s friends were notably absent during the court proceedings, Joe Muchiri, described as Jowie’s best friend and party companion, took to social media to share his emotions. Muchiri posted a screenshot of the court proceedings with a caption expressing his grief. Additionally, he shared another screenshot with a sad face emoji, reflecting the somber mood surrounding the verdict.
As Jowie faces the consequences of his actions, his friends and acquaintances grapple with the reality of his fate and the gravity of the crime he committed.
