Jowie Irungu has appealed the death penalty ruling by justice Grace Nzioka saying the ruling was totally unconstitutional. He is also clear that, the Attorney General Justin Muturi is a respondent in his appeal seeking compensation from government over denial of bail as enshrined in the constitution.
Jowie Irungu is clear that, the government is obligated to pay him for infringing on his rights to bail as his case goes on. He is seeking millions for the problems that he has endured in jail since his arrest and prosecution.
Jowie Irungu has also urged the court of appeal to declare the death penalty ruling unconstitutional. He is clear that, the constitution of Kenya doesn’t condone impunity and that’s why he will do everything in his power in order to ensure that order against him are lifted.
