Ugandan music star Jose Chameleone has issued a cease and desist letter to blogger Janie Namukasa, demanding Sh100 million in damages. The legal action follows allegations by Namukasa claiming Chameleone was imprisoned in the US after a dispute.

Chameleone’s letter accuses the blogger of making false and malicious statements on social media. He demands a public apology within five days on the same platform where the allegations were made, alongside the monetary compensation.

Following the accusations, Chameleone posted on social media from a hospital, revealing he was undergoing surgery. He expressed gratitude for his fans’ support and remained hopeful for a full recovery.

The singer has been battling health issues since late last year, initially hospitalized in Uganda before being transferred to the US for advanced medical care. His health struggles have forced him to take a break from performing.

In a heartfelt message, Chameleone thanked his fans and promoters for their support during his absence. He also expressed appreciation to his friend Juliet Zawedde, who accompanied him to the US for treatment.

Chameleone is reportedly battling acute pancreatitis, with his son Abba Marcus revealing that his father’s health issues stem from long-term alcohol addiction, leading to significant weight loss and other complications.

Marcus defended his mother, Daniella Atim, from public criticism, explaining the family’s struggles amid Chameleone’s illness. Daniella, who is estranged from Chameleone, currently resides in the US with their children.

Chameleone remains optimistic about his recovery and is determined to return stronger. His demand for Sh100 million in damages serves as a warning against spreading false information about his personal life and health.
