Media personality and event MC James Muiri, popularly known as MC Jimmie Kajim, has cautioned Kenyans against taking sides or offering unsolicited advice when couples experience conflict.
Kajim’s remarks came after film director Richard Kamau, alias Director Ritchie, and his wife Rena Solomon reconciled months after publicly separating.
The reunion surprised many fans who had previously weighed in on their relationship struggles online.
In a statement shared on his official social media accounts on Friday, February 20, 2026, Kajim reminded followers that marital disagreements are often temporary and complex, urging the public to avoid rushing to judgment. “Never take sides when it comes to two married people,” Kajim wrote.
He emphasised that when misunderstandings arise within families, the most prudent response is prayer and support rather than criticism or alignment with one partner.
According to him, outsiders rarely understand the full dynamics of a relationship, especially one built over many years.
“When misunderstandings arise in families, sometimes the wisest thing you can do is pray for the couple, not pick sides. Especially for people who have been together for years… people who have children… two mature lovers who have built a life together,” he added.
Kajim also warned netizens about the dangers of social media commentary, noting that harsh words and online pressure can sometimes worsen delicate situations. He urged Kenyans to respect privacy and allow couples space to resolve their issues internally.
His message resonated with many, with supporters agreeing that public involvement in private matters can be harmful.
The reconciliation of Ritchie and Rena has since sparked conversations about patience, maturity and the importance of discretion when dealing with other people’s relationships.
