Just days after comedian Eric Omondi revealed to the nation that he will spearhead businessman Jimi Wanjigi’s presidential campaign, he is all smiles after he was gifted a Chrysler Crossfire.
Speaking to Standard Entertainment, Omondi stated that he was surprised to receive the car since Wanjigi had just invited him for tea.
“This is a pleasant surprise since I thought Wanjigi was inviting me over for tea. He told me that I should not give any excuses whenever I am on assignment out of town since this car will serve the purpose.
“I have also been given fuel for one year and two months,” he said.
Omondi added that the car consumes fuel worth roughly Sh10,500 per day, especially since he will be traversing the country.

On his first assignment, Omondi said he will start drumming up campaign for Wanjigi in either Mombasa or Kisumu and he will be focusing on the youth.
In a video shared by the comedian on his socials, he is seen in the company of Wanjigi who urges him to ‘fagia wote’ as he starts his journey to State House.
“You are doing a wonderful job to sell this dream to the entire nation. Ni lazima sasa tufagie wote wote wote.
“Use this car to spread that message…take it to the entire nation. It is a very solid car,” said Wanjigi.
The name “Crossfire” refers to the two character lines that run from front to rear along the body sides — their crease directions cross below the mirrors on the door panels.
The Crossfire’s visual presence includes a wide-body raked over relatively huge 19-inch rear wheels and 18-inch front wheels. The most distinctive design element is the fastback roof and broad rear fenders made for a rear-end design.
According to car dealers, the Chrysler Crossfire’s standard features included large alloy wheels with performance-rated tires, keyless entry with security alarm, a power-retractable rear wing spoiler, leather-trimmed seating surfaces, dual power front sports bucket seats, full instrumentation, a 3.2 L V6 engine with a manual transmission, rear-wheel-drive (RWD), a leather-wrapped and stitched steering wheel, a power-retractable cloth convertible roof (for convertible models), front floor mats, and air conditioning.
Asked whether he would consider being Wanjigi’s running mate or his interest in vying for office, Omondi said the youth are suffering and need a leader who will offer solutions.
“I think the youth are suffering and yearning for a leader with their solutions. I will not be Wanjigi’s running mate but I will support his course and vision as he explained. However, in future, don’t write me off…Considering that I’m the President of comedy in Africa, I may as well make my political dream a reality.”
A fortnight ago, Wanjigi said he would run for the top sear as a demonstration of how democracy works in the country.
Speaking at PCEA church Ndarugu, Nakuru West constituency, Wanjigi said he would run against ODM Leader Raila Odinga despite being his close ally.
“Raila is my great friend, I will run against him to show Kenyans how democracy works in this country. We will compete and make sure the election is free and fair,” he remarked.
Wanjigi expressed great confidence that he would win next year’s polls to become the head of state if the election is fairly conducted adding it was time for fresh leaders to take the mantle of the country’s national politics.
Months ago, Wanjigi joined the crowded presidential race to run against Deputy President William Ruto, ODM Leader Raila Odinga, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, Dr Mukhisa Kituyi among other aspirants.
“This time I shall not be king making. I shall address the rest of your questions at the appropriate juncture,” Wanjigi said.
Wanjigi is considered by some factions as a shrewd political strategist credited with successfully pairing President Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto and their accession to power in 2013.
