As the Azimio group wound through Kamukunji, Eastleigh, Juja Street and Mathare region, one tune was consistent on the sound framework.
The tune goes-Jeshi ya Baba, sisi ni wa Baba, Baba, Raila Odinga uko juu kabisa.
The tune was sung by a group named ‘jeshi ya baba amapiano’ highlighting performer Frasha. It comes in the Amapiano, sort well known in South Africa. The tune was delivered seven months prior, half a month prior to the 2022 August surveys.
The Azimio group incorporates Rarieda MP Otiende Amolo, previous Raila’s running mate Martha Karua, Nairobi Representative Edwin Sifuna, Siaya Lead representative James Orengo, Babu Owino (Embakasi East ) and Homa Straight Lead representative Gladys Wanga among different pioneers.
Raila was flanked by other Azimio pioneers as they stood up to the counter mob police.
The different sides had a stalemate of near 10 minutes before the police fought back and teargassed the crowd trying to scatter them.
Nonetheless, the resistance dismissed through Valley Street and joined Uhuru Roadway. Endeavors to enter the CBD were purposeless as police had hindered most streets driving towards the downtown area.
The fights have been seen in Nairobi, Kitale, Homa Narrows and Kisumu.
Organizations stayed shut with negligible movement here as occupants prepared for Raila Odinga’s dissent calls. A small bunch of PSV vehicles were seen at the transport ends. A few inhabitants remained away while others rioted where they consumed tires on the side of the road.
