Nancy Nyambura alias Jastorina, passed away in 2015 leaving behind two sons.
In an interview with Hiram Maina, her son Stephen Karogo says life for him and his younger brother has never been the same after her death.
“Her illness was very abrupt. She had gone for burial and when she came back she said she was not feeling very well.
I was informed about her illness and being a ‘mama’s boy’ I chose to come home and see her. The same month (July 2014) she started getting better then It got worse.
It was a very tormenting time for me. I had to stop schooling as she was the sole provider. My dad died in 2005. I had to move to a day school so that I could take care of her.”

Steve added,
“She had been nominated for two awards a month before her illness (Meningitis) struck. The day she was to go receive an award (Kalasha award) is the same day she died.
I used to visit her in the hospital so many times. The last thing I remember is seeing her on life support. She was struggling to breathe.
I had promised to take her to the Kalasha awards to receive her trophy even if it meant pushing her on a wheelchair. I was called and informed that she had passed on.”
Steve is currently asking for a financial appeal to help educate his younger brother who has been sent back home due to a lack of school fees.
Please spare what you have and let’s support Jastorina’s kids.
