The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has now dropped a major political announcement regarding the return of the infamous Mungiki sect, formerly led by Maina Njenga.

Speaking during a press briefing on Monday 5, the opposition boss informed that he is a living witness that there’s an attempt to artificially re-create and reestablish the Mungiki movement.

“There is now an attempt to artificially recreate, and reestablish the Mungiki movement and I have seen it happen with my own eyes,” Raila informed.

Raila further argued, though in an indirect onslaught against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and the Kenya Kwanza administration that the ex-Mungiki leader is being vilified fot the same. Raila said that the State has made several searches at Njenga’s residences but have found nothing tangible to prosecute him for Mungiki’s resurgence.

“Maina Njenga has since been vilified and harassed, they have carried out searches in his residences, planting some kind of evidence to try to vilify him and find an excuse to arrest him and detain him,” Raila added.

Here are some reactions over Raila’s remarks on Maina Njenga, a man believed to be his strong ally from Mt Kenya region:
