Children are blessings from the Almighty to parents and always bring happiness to the families they are born into.
Kenyan Coastal music sensation Kelechi Africana has stirred up controversy among his fans by openly claiming to be the father of 22 children. Through his Facebook page, Africana stated that he remembers impregnating 22 women, but he only knows 13 of the children.
He alleged that the other 9 children’s mothers did not want to involve him in their upbringing and only sought his genetic contribution, leaving the responsibility of raising them to themselves.
“I have 22 children — I know 13 of them — the mothers of the others just wanted the seed,” he wrote.
The artist, who has been relatively quiet lately, especially after the end of former Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho’s two terms in office, recently claimed in a radio interview that contemporary Coast music had declined because Joho was the one elevating many artists.
Africana emphasized that all 001 music artists could still succeed if they genuinely had talent, whether with Joho’s financial support or without.
“One thing about all these artists is that they don’t know how to sing, especially the ones you mentioned. They lack real talent. But Joho is still here, and he’s still wealthy, so the question is, why did they stop releasing songs and flourishing? That shows they are not good at what they do,” Kelechi Africana said.
