Professor Herman Manyora, a lecturer at the University of Nairobi, has advised former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka to recognize that Azimio One Kenya Alliance suffered a setback when they brought the 2022 election audit to parliament for examination.

Manyora, a well-known political analyst, emphasized that the opposition coalition lost ground in the discussion when Kalonzo allowed Parliament to have significant control over the Bomas talks.

“Audit of 2022 polls? To what end? The moment you took Bomas to parliament, you lost it. Leave with it, Bwana @skmusyoka”, Manyora wrote on his official X page.

Manyora’s statement came shortly after Kalonzo Musyoka expressed his support for auditing the 2022 elections in order to resolve the ongoing disputes regarding the appointment of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners.

Azimio One Kenya Alliance advocates for political parties to be responsible for selecting IEBC commissioners, while the government’s position is that a panel chosen by the President should make these selections.

Furthermore, Azimio seeks an audit of the 2022 presidential election to determine the true winner between President William Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
