Thirdway party leader Ekuru Aukot has come out to react after a section of Kenyans from the Luo community went to court and demanded for a referendum to allow them form a country of their own. The community said that they are being discriminated by the Kenya Kwanza government and need to have a country of their own.
Aukot has now told the community that the cessation they are planning will not happen unless they have a strong military team. He told them that even if they were to get the refendum they will still not be able to form their own country because their votes are very small compared to that of the entire Kenya. He also noted that not all Luos are buying the idea and their plan is an exercise of futility.
“Cessation won’t happen in Kenya, my fellow nilotes unless you’re prepared militarily! Even assuming you secure that Referendum, all Kenyans must vote. You will have to pit a section of your votes against the rest of Kenya. I also believe there are hundreds of thousands of Luos who do not buy that idea. It’s an academic exercise. An exercise in futulity.” Aukot said.
