In search of a better approach on how to initiate young Kenyans into the outside world after their school years are done, The Morning Kiss hosts were glad that a lot of their listeners suggested doing away with school uniforms.
Arguing out her reasoning for such a topic, Kamene said, “…these uniforms serve no purpose in this day and age…I think by the virtual age gap we can easily tell who a student is and who the teacher is.”
Contrary to her opinion, co-host Obinna justified his claims on why uniforms should be retained saying, “Kamene I don’t think you’ve studied in the village, students in village schools are bigger than the teachers.”
According to Kamene, she thinks that her school was too strict with their uniform attire such that if you were caught with an unmade tie or an untucked shirt, you were simply sent home.
The school administration, when responding to claims that they were becoming too strict, were saying that “Such neatness will help you focus.”
Which made Kamene wonder how untucked shirts and short dresses contributed to their failure in class.
Do you think school uniforms should be done away with?
